Scholarship for Service (SFS) program funded by the National Science Foundation at WPI for students pursuing studies in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or a related field focused on cybersecurity. The scholarship comes with various benefits, including participation in a targeted job fair and additional funds for textbooks and professional development. Scholarship recipients must complete a degree program with a significant focus on security, search for and complete security-related government internships during the summers while funded, and participate in conferences, job fairs, and meetings related to the SFS program. Eligibility criteria include being a U.S. citizen, a rising junior/senior undergraduate student or a graduate student at WPI, pursuing a plan of study with significant security content in their host department, and showing strong evidence of ability to obtain a Security Clearance. The evaluation criteria include academic qualifications, demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance.
